Health & Safety Courses

The American Red Cross provides First Aid, CPR and AED programs to give you the confidence to respond in an emergency situation with skills that can save a life. These programs are available for any age and can be tailored to the needs of specific groups and individuals.

Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Essentials

This course allows participants to become familiar with the use of Automated External Defibrillation (AED) for victims of cardiac arrest and how to safely operate the device.

CPR - Child & Epinephrine Injection

Learn how to give rescue breathing, care for a choking victim and administer CPR to child age 1 - 12 yrs. Also learn how to recognize the signs of allergic reaction and how to administer an EpiPen. Strongly recommended for parents of children with severe allergic reactions.

(Please note that this class does not meet the requirements for the State of Connecticut medical administration program for daycare providers. The program is designed for parents of children with allergic reactions.

CPR w/AED for the Professional Rescuer

This course teaches professional rescuers the skills needed to respond appropriately to respiratory and cardiac emergencies, including the use of an automated external defibrillator for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Students will also learn how to use a pocket mask and bag-valve resuscitator.
